Sessions can be booked directly on the website. Dead Moon Audio welcomes you to bring in the engineer you’d like to run your session. If you’d like our help in booking an engineer for your session, please let us know on the booking form.
Dead Moon Audio owners, Adam Cissell and Marc Valois, are both engineers who run sessions at the studio. However, their time will need to be booked in addition to booking the studio. Please contact us at deadmoonaudio@gmail.com to discuss booking either Marc or Adam’s time.
Yes, a session can be booked without an engineer. However, an engineer must be booked and vetted by us within 14 days of the date of the session. If a session has no booked and vetted engineer after this point, the session may be cancelled.
Once you let us know who is going to engineer your session, we first contact the engineer to confirm the booking. If the engineer is unknown to us, we go over some basics and useful information about our studio that will allow the session to run smoothly. This is preferably done in person at the studio. However, if this is not possible, a remote conversation can potentially suffice. This is all done to ensure everyone has the most knowledge going into the session and that no time is wasted trying to figure things out.
Yes, a 50% deposit is required to book a session. The remainder of payment is due at the start of your session. You can choose to pay in full when booking your session as well.
Booking deposits are fully refundable up to two weeks in advance of the session. After that time, the deposit is no longer refundable.
Yes, multiple days or weeks can be locked out. Multiple day lockouts can be booked by selecting consecutive days directly on the website. For longer duration bookings, please contact us at deadmoonaudio@gmail.com and we will be happy to work with you to book the time you need.
Yes, we have a plethora of house instruments, amplifiers and noise makers that you are welcome to use during your session. Please review our gear and instrumentation.
It is important that you bring your own external storage device and that you allow yourself time to transfer your sessions files prior to leaving. All session files will be routinely deleted after 30 days, unless specific arrangements have been made (such as when future mixing is planned/booked at Dead Moon Audio).
If you are tracking to tape, when booking your session, please let us know if you wish to buy your tape from Dead Moon Audio. We are happy to provide you with more information about our tape machine. Just email us at deadmoonaudio@gmail.com .
